Disneyland Forever was written after Pete had a conversation with Gerry Conlon of the Guildford Four not long after he got out.  When asked how life was going to be after what he had endured, Gerry’s reply was “It’ll be disneyland forever” its therefore tragic that the opposite was the reality, and rather than disneyland it was more like welcome to hell, as his life spiraled downward as he tried to cope with his life suffering from severe post traumatic stress disorder.
