Date of Conviction: 24/8/2005

Time Served:  2826 days 1 hour 13 minutes,
and counting….

Sean Toal  was convicted of the murder of Paul McGilvray in 2005, following a confrontation outside a friends’ home involving several men Mr. McGilvray was stabbed and killed. The forensic evidence at the trial established that the knife that killed Mr. McGilvray could not have been wielded by Sean Toal.  The only ‘evidence’ to convict Sean Toal was based around an interview that he gave to Police without a solicitor present, the circumstances of which cast doubt over the legitimacy of its’ content. Sean Toal’s legal team are confident that they have very good grounds for Sean’s forth coming appeal.
